
CHALLENGE:
Environmental sustainability is core to Google’s mission. Google Chrome needed a third party team to validate Chromebook laptops running on Chrome OS software as environmentally sustainable products. The objective was to identify a compelling sustainability story to differentiate specific Chromebook products.
SOLUTION:
I directed a team of sustainability experts through discovery designed to qualify and quantify ecological and performance impacts of Chromebook products. Our report determined that Chromebooks are a force multiplier for sustainability efforts when used at scale in a business environment. We successfully identified a story that differentiates key SKUs in the product set. Research continues to inform product development and is featured in Chrome's core pitch to IT decision-maker audiences.
